The major sources of job stress at Parkway, steps to minimize the experience of psychological strain for employees and how to reduce stress among employees.
Case Summary: Parkway Nursing Care is a healthcare and in-home nursing care provider. Over the last few years it has expanded significantly. There are number of issues Company is facing. Increased paperwork had been led by increasing government scrutiny on the industry. With the increasing rate of injuries and the demanding nature of the job, employees are unhappy. As such increased stress, absences and conflicts has been resulted. Senior management thinks that people may not have right attitude and capabilities for the job, but they are only hired to keep the positions filled. Organizational developments methods are being tried by Parkway such as renew its commitment to the firm’s core culture and values and appreciative injury to create changes.
Interpretation: Parkway has a lot of work to do though it has taken some initials steps toward a new direction. You’ve been given a role of a change management consultant so that you help the organization to respond to the stress that employees experience and change its culture.
