Solution

Find the surface area and volume of the solid.

The surface area of cylinder $=483.56y{d}^2$

The volume of cylinder $=615.44y{d}^3$

• Formula of surface area of cylinder $=2\pi r^2+2\pi rh$ .
• Formula of volume of cylinder $=\pi r^{2}h$

Calculation:

The given solid is -

  

As the given solid is cylinder.

Diameter of cylinder = 14yd

The radius of cylinder = $\frac{14}{2}=7yd$

And height of cylinder = 4yd

The surface area of cylinder $=2\pi r^2+2\pi rh$

  $\begin{array}{l}$ =2\pi {(7)}^2+2\pi (7)(4)$=2\pi (49)+2\pi 28\\ =98\pi +56\pi \\ =154\pi \\ =154(3.14)\\ =483.56\end{array}$

So, The surface area of cylinder $=483.56y{d}^2$

The volume of cylinder $=\pi r^{2}h$

  $\begin{array}{l}$ =\pi {(7)}^2(4)$=\pi 49(4)\\ =196\pi \\ =196(3.14)\\ =615.44\end{array}$

So, The volume of cylinder $=615.44y{d}^3$
