1.
Develop a SWOT analysis for a company of your choice. Provide three meaningful points per section. (12 Marks) DO NOT CHOOSE APPLE, Samsung, Starbucks or Nike
LUSH
2.
How would you change/improve their proposed strategy? (3Marks)
If I was LUSH my only strategy would be to do market research, and surveys on existing customers and new ones. Whether a consumer walks in or out, makes a purchase asking how was there service today and taking note to asking them what they would like to see more of the company. That can help with narrowing down what they should work on, add more of and less of. I would also add more diversity to the products although they have a great product line, they are well known for their bath bombs, they can do so much more in the different areas and add so much to their stores that will drive more customers in store, like robes, towels, loofah, cute sponges etc…
1.
Make sure to cite your work. I did not have any work to cite I actually just went on the website and have shopped in lush personally and just took from that so I cited the website. https://www.lush.com/ca/en_ca
Strengths
Branding, Lush has a strong brand identity. When someone sees the logo, name or wrapping paper they automatically know what it is.
Unique and Fun Retail Experience
Sustainability Weaknesses
Price points are a little higher than other places, because products are more natural and not with as much preservatives added inside them this will make the product go up
in price especially for people who are on a budget it isn’t as affordable for them
Online presence: They have such a great retail experience that there online presence is there but it has room for growth.
Collaborations
Opportunities
Threats
Professor Dawn Finnegan
Global Expansion/Collaborations: Expanding to
other areas in the world, including more collaborations for their product lines and should help with recognizability.
Online Growth: They can grow their online presence; a lot of people love to experience walking into a lush store and experiencing their products.
Diverse Products, like adding more accessories, and products to help growth of business and offering new sustainable options.
Competition: Since the Bath & Body industry
is a super competitive industry which is an industry that is always changing and lots of opportunities. There is always a new brand arising and lush needs to stay relevant by always staying up to date with trends and their consumers.
Demand/ New Trends: Important because there is always new brand emerging that consumers will love, and sustainability is great but other brands offer the same and will offer new fun creative ideas consumers love.
Supply Chain maybe? Based off what happened in the pandemic where a lot of companies had products stuck at borders in containers and etc.…. A lot of other disruptions can also happen through the supply chain and affect product availability, sales, and inventory.

MANAGEMENT DECISION CASECrafty Credit Card Competitor “Chases” Amex for Shareof Millennials’ Wallets
As noted in the chapter, an external positioning statement is not just about being able to describe how your product benefits the customer—it also needs to explain how your product is different from the competition. Chase’s “It’s not your father’s credit card” external positioning statement sums up in six words the idea that Chase is young while its competitors are old. The statement leads millennial consumers to consider what this card could do for them, beyond what their father’s card could. Amex’s positioning has always been that its card is for the successful professional— what would happen if Amex changed that positioning? (As a bonus, try to create a short external positioning phrase for Amex to use with millennials.)
