K: I haven’t had any personal encounters in the justice system that had a significant impact. However, I am avid true crime follower. I would classify various viewpoints of involved parties as a humanities or social science lens. Evidence in cases provides the scientific lens and the sharing of the story or documentation on true crimes provides the historical lens. The justice system has a vast number of steps to get to justice. I do believe that justice is not always fair and
that is seen first-hand in some of the true crime cases that I have read about. W: Theres a lot of aspects to always be learned about the justice system, in my opinion. Scientific lens proposes a question of how many different types of evidence could a person naturally provide? Regarding the humanities, I would ask what about justice is considered proper
justice? or Who is responsible for determining whether a punishment or justice is just or not? Historically, I would ask how justice was determined before any type of justice system was in place? What is a perfect example of justice? How do we determine what is right and wrong? Social science lens would have me ask how culture can influence what is considered a serious crime or a crime at all? What is the correlation between justice and society?
L: The answers to my questions were not specifically answered. My questions are more general, and the library resources provided more specific topics throughout the justice system. I would continue my search by researching information that is more specific to the questions I would research the development of the justice system throughout the centuries to determine the ground work laid to what we have today.
