Abraham Tesser created the self-evaluation maintenance theory in 1988. The self-
evaluation maintenance model assumes two approaches: 1. That a person will try to maintain or increase their self-evaluation and 2. Relationships with others influence self-evaluation(Tesser, Constance, McIntosh (1989). In leadership, taking self-assessment helps you as a leader to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of an individual. For example, the LPI self-assessments taken help individuals support to determine where leadership skills they hold. The results are tallied up, and you can see where you fall. The placement allows us to see where and what the individual can contribute personally and to the team.
I scored the lowest leadership behavior in "Inspire A Shared Vision." Knowing what I can
and not, this is something that I purposely do not do. Instead, I give the situation and allow people to decide what they feel is right and wrong. I want to let people have a say in the common
goal or vision. I am creating trust and loyalty. Building trust and loyalty allows others to become more confident and comfortable understanding the company's vision.
Building these relationships first with an employee helps with overall communication. Now collaborations with employees and managers will develop and facilitate trusting relationships with managers and employees. Finally, if the opportunity was to present itself, I could turn on the option to inspire a shared vision. Another reason this happens: the company needs to figure out its vision or where it needs to be interpreted correctly.
The leadership behavior that I scored the highest on was in "Challenge The Process." Based on the results, I can show and enlist others to share the same vision of the company. The two leadership behaviors can coexist well together. I find other avenues that others may not see then but are available. This is excellent leadership behavior when a team and leader must work together. You are challenged as an individual, but your team will expect more from you because

One prominent leadership theory is the situational leadership theory, which suggests that effective leadership is contingent upon the specific circumstances or context in which it occurs. According to this theory, leaders should adapt their style based on the readiness or maturity level of their followers. In other words, leaders must assess the competence and commitment of their followers and adjust their leadership approach accordingly, whether it be directing, coaching, supporting, or delegating tasks. By flexibly adapting their leadership style to meet the needs of their followers, leaders can maximize their effectiveness and facilitate the achievement of organizational goals.
