Report
Experimental Part of the Lab 1. Plan out your circuit. Refer to the datasheet for the 74LS74 to find the correct pin-out. 2. Implement the circuit on your breadboard. Double check all wiring! 3. Test your circuit: turn on the power and the function generator and assert the reset both lights should be off now. Assert Contestant 0 LED 0 should turn on and stay on, even when Contestant 1 is asserted later. Reset the circuit and assert Contestant 1 LED 1 should turn on and stay on, even when Contestant 0 is asserted later. Note: when designing more complex circuits, especially sequential circuits, the oscilloscope can be an extremely valuable debugging tool. If something did not work, try checking the voltages at different points in the circuit to see if they match your expectations. Once your circuit behaves as expected, demonstrate it to your TA as described above in Step 3. Include in your deliverable/report a screenshot of the oscilloscope screen showing the square wave output of the function generator and the frequency measurement for the circuit. Assignment Questions Please follow the guidelines under the Canvas module “Report Guidelines” for preparing a lab report. In your report, include the following: 1. [6 pts] State transition diagram for the game show circuit and k-map for Q,* 2. [6 pts] Discussion of the expected circuit behavior/ functionality.
