Task 3 Managing Engaging Environments D095 A1. A way to prevent issues by interacting with students is being more informed on things that students may not react kindly to. Had I known this certain student did not have a good relationship with her family, I would have adjusted the wording of the assignment from the beginning. Instead of writing about their family, I would say we could write about someone we were close to. This would avoid any tension while doing the assignment. A2. One aspect of my interaction with students that was successful was my ability to redirect the more distracted students to the assignment. I was able to get students back on task by asking about their family and building relationships with the students. A3. One aspect I would have done differently is the way I handled the student that had no relationship with her family. Instead of reinforcing that she did the assignment the way I wanted, I should have adjusted it so that she could write about her volleyball team instead. This way, she could write about something that interested her, and the assignment would still be done.
