Abstract
Noah Miller was starting his new job as the production manager at a growing startup company that has government clients. Noah always knew he wanted to go into the army after high school before college. Growing up he was always a follow the rules type of guy always had a seriousness about everything and hated went wrong. The army is where Noah learned discipline, leadership, and problem-solving skills. He got to lead a team and went he was ready for college he new exactly what he wanted to get his degree in.
Noah graduated from New York university with a MBA in business Management. After all the classes he took and the leadership books he was reading daily he was ready to step up to his role he was confident, focus, and organized. Some of the classes Noah took was emergency management, a project management class and etc. The new company he was starting old production manager had them running one way and didn’t really utilize his staff to the best of their abilities. When Noah did his interview he was ask if he could handle an older team with people who wasn’t so tech savvy and change that as the company was now getting bigger government contracts and client they needed to be in compliance. He was also told that the old manager didn’t lead the team correctly and let them do whatever the wanted to do over all changes needed to happen with the production techs.
Noah was ready he was sure his army background and schooling that he had everything he needed to be an successful manager. On his first day Noah he arrive early to the job site to tour the company and production area. He walking into the production area and found it to be unorganized, snack wrappers , and things that had nothing to do with production work on the tables. He wrote down a lot of things he wants to change about the area and discuss with the

team about when he meets them. As the morning started and people start to come in he notice that some of the team was arrive later than the start time at 8:00am.
Noah join a morning meeting where he met with his boss the company manager and other
managers / lead of different departments such as quality , shipping and receiving , HR and engineers. Noah started to work with the plant manager to go over day to day duties and upcoming orders. He had learn how to check progress on orders and time off machine data , how to schedule what orders need to be run next . His boss told him that he would need to tell his team that the rate would be changing due to higher demands and they need to make in progress checks to insure the parts had to problems before shipping with quality control. The plant manager said in the morning meeting that he thought it will be a great idea to go from 8 hours shift to 10 to meet demands or overtime will need to happen soon.
Noah was picking up on his training fast and want to role out the new plans to his team asap. He started by introducing himself to the production team and chatted with them each one by one while they worked. For a few days just watch them and monitor orders and want to development a sense of how they operated. Noah notice the some of the member was still coming in late, when he walked away from the production area people would slack off and snacks and drinks was around product. Monday morning when his staff was all there Noah decided to have a meeting with his team to go over changes that would be affected immediately.
Noah told his staff that he would no longer allow anymore lateness and if the person didn’t have the time to cover it then they would be given a half point after 5 mins of not clocking
in at 8:00am anything over 5 mins would be a whole point. He expresses the importance of coming in on time and to have better time management because 5 whole point and you was fired.
He went on the say that there would be no more eating or drinking on the production floors only
