R-1 RESULTS Group Lab Report * Title of Experiment: Torque Date: 10/24/2023 Class, Section & Lab group: PHYS 243-203 Group 3 Recorder (consolidates report and submits into dropbox): Luke Dang Group Members PRESENT Kara Becker Results: 12. Discuss your results. Is the sum of all forces zero within the uncertainty? Is the sum of all torques zero within the uncertainty? Was the meterstick in equilibrium? The net sums of force and torque are not quite zero, but they fall within the relative uncertainty that was calculated. Therefore, the meterstick was in equilibrium. Error Analysis: The sensors had troubling remaining at a zero measurement upon taring, this would have an effect on all future measurements and calculations. Summary & Conclusion: During the lab we attempted to achieve equilibrium of a meter stick using weights hung on hangers that weighed 20 grams, 20 grams, and 100 grams. The meter stick was hung from two force sensors. Depending on the size of the weights hung from the hangers, the weights had to be shuffled across the meter stick in order to achieve equilibrium.
