BCN 3223C Soils and Foundaons Homework: Soil Compacon Background: Your job is to prepare 1000 LF of soil compacon for the county road subgrade. The borrow pit soil is primarily sand and gravel mix and meets the requirements on the drawing and specificaons. Prior to the soil compacon, you conducted a Proctor Test from the borrow Pit and scheduled compacon acvity today. Required Tasks: 1. The Proctor test results are shown in the data table, and you need to complete the graph and find OMC and Maximum dry Weight (density). 2. The specificaons allow ± 2% Moisture (water) content, and minimum relave density is 95%. Please draw the acceptable zone on the graph. 3. Provide a soil compacon method and proper equipment selecon with sufficient explanaon. Submission: 1. Complete the data and graph sheet including OMC and Max dry Density. 2. Draw the acceptable zone on the graph. 3. Provide a separate page to answer #3 above in a paragraph. Rubric: # Descripon Max. Points 1. Data calculaon and table compleon 10 2. Graph, OMC, and Max. Dry Density 10 3. Acceptable zone drawing 10 4. Method and Equipment Analysis 10 Total 40
