My process in an internship was a great experience. I was working with Comunidades Unidas (Communities United) during these four months. My experience with this non-profit organization is incredible and at the same time I learned to work with members of the community. This organization works with undeserved Latino Community in the West side of Salt Lake City. I did not work an only specific area because they work in different files. However, I was a case manager who received call and tries to refer people to the different programs of this organization or contact them with other agencies.
My first days in this organization were difficult for me because I started to answer the phone and try to be familiar with the information that provided

In civic engagement, my supervisor is the manager of this initiative; they work in immigration issues, labor rights, committed parents in school, leader program, etc. In both initiatives, this organization works with referrals in case that we do not provide services that our clients ask.
FIRST CASE
1) A review of the case in assessment of the behavior applying HSBE model (the bio-psych-social perspective)
I had a case which was really hard because a 40-year-old woman who I helped she presented me a lot of situations. According with Erickson in his stages, she is part of middle adulthood, in the stage of generativity versus stagnation. In this stage, adults experience more stress that can create problems in their different spheres.
According with this woman, she was unemployed because the work agency where she worked fired for non- reason (social dimension). Then, for this cause she had three days to leave her home because she did not have money to pay the rent (social dimension). Also, she had a U-visa for problems with domestic violence (psychosocial dimension). So, she was a single mother of a girl.
Additional, she had a sister with cancer in an advance phase in Guatemala (biological dimension, different client). She was worried because she was a support of her sister. She could not help anymore her sister. She was desperate because she did not have
The intent of this report, is to convey a summary of my past internship of working with History Maker Homes as a superintendent. This assignment will include various aspects of my internship from the first hand experiences I have encountered. Topics such as orientation and preparation, experiences, communication enhancement and lessons learned will all be covered in this report.
My internship experience proved to be valuable in terms of exposure and knowledge. Attending the M-1 Rail Community Advisory Council meetings were very rewarding. I was able to observe and interact with the public on their thoughts about M-1 Rail. The internship has taught me that it is important to learn how to demonstrate professionalism but courteous behavior at all times. My internship has definitely given me a better understanding of my skill, but most importantly, I’ve come to learn that I am not alone. This job has taught me that almost everybody is in my same position. Thanks to my I know that if I continue to work hard things will fall into place. Being my first position in an office atmosphere, I didn’t know exactly what to expect.
The situation that brought me from my first internship to the second one was frustrating and difficult. Nonetheless, it provided me with beneficial learning experiences for my career and life in general. One of the silver linings of interning at these two considerably different internship experiences was increasing my knowledge of two different types of business. The first of these areas was in the Non-Profit organization at PACS, where their mission is to empower individuals who are struggling. The nonprofit industry has always deeply interested me, and what I learned at PACS only fueled that interest. The time I spent at PACS was brief and ended abruptly. Nonetheless, I learned valuable and significant information and gained an understanding of the various business characteristics that are essential in nonprofit organizations.
The process of finding an internship was very stressful for me. I honestly had no idea where to start or even what I was interested in. It took me many weeks to do research into different facilities that had internships available. After calling tons of organizations I finally interviewed at one that felt right for me. The interview took place with Laura Crain, who I also interviewed for this essay. The internship is at the McHenry County Substance Abuse Coalition.
The main task of my internship was to gain more experience and knowledge of our respective field. Overall, the experience proved to be both enjoyable and rewarding. During this internship I used the skills that I learned from my Medical Assistant class and used them in the real world scenarios at the hospital. Also while I there I was exposed to new experiences. Such as performing Urine test on Drug and alcohol patients. For this procedure I had to stand in the restroom with the patient's and watch them urinate into a cup. I had to stand in the restroom with the patients because in the past they try and cheat the system. For example
For my internship, I served under the Allegheny County Health Department in Pittsburgh, PA. I served as the National Health Corps Member for the Women, Infants, and Children Program as their Care Coordinator for all nine offices. Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a supplemental nutrition agency that targets pregnant and postpartum women and young children ages 5 and under who are at risk of malnutrition. My supervisor Annie Nagy along with my mentors in the office made sure I was able to receive all of the materials and resources I would need to have a complete and successful internship.
During both my internship and my pre-internship classroom experience, I have had students with suspected Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). One was in the process of being diagnosed with Alcohol Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder, the other was suspected to have partial Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Though both students were quite different, they did share some commonalities. Both had trouble with following directions and trouble with memory. I also had trouble reaching both in the classroom as they needed more individual instruction than I could give them. There were often times I felt like I was making no difference at all, which was devastating as a teacher. These students though the most challenging have made the most lasting impact
The internship was a channel to direct my passion for helping others; my supervisor assigned me numerous projects that involved communicating with community leaders. One project was a collaboration with the U.S. Probation Office to reduce recidivism, and it allowed me first hand encounter on how to create policies and procedures to promote community and individual growth. This insight has inspired me to attend law schools to influence legal policies. After the internship, I continued my involvement in the community outreach through the Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters and The Females' Center of Excellence & Leadership, Inc. by mentoring at-risk youths and providing learning opportunities to the youths.
Now as I am reaching my last years as an undergraduate student at Georgia Gwinnett College, I have the opportunity to participate in an internship program. I
What was missing or disappointing, if anything, about this internship? What was especially rewarding and educational?
Erickson theorizes that a person experiences different stages, and the “Individual confronts a major challenge or ‘crisis” (Boles, Danner, Briggs & Johnson
In Erik Erikson theory this stage is “Achieving a sense of generativity while avoiding self-absorption and stagnation (middle-age)” (Crisp and Taylor 2010, p.149). This stage is described as the focus of raising children and to sacrifice their own needs for others. (Crisp and Taylor 2010, p.149). Mrs Green may find that her relationship with her children is stronger, and may have a very active social life as she may be getting ready to retire from work (Koutoukidis, Stainton & Hughson 2013, p.224).
The stage that follows early adulthood is known as middle adulthood where people are generally caught between being productive and being stagnant. This stage reflects the need to create a living legacy: they would either need to feel they have become an important figure for the next generation to follow or they would develop a sense of purposelessness which is generally known as a “mid-life crisis”. This crisis can be solved by having the adults care and nurture children or help the fore-coming generation in other ways or means, however if the crisis remains the person would persist in random non-age-appropriate behavior as well as a continued feeling in stagnation. During this stage adults lose some of their physical aspects as their muscular strength, ability and agility weakens. Women will go through a menopausal
It has been a while since I started at the internship and I am really glad I decided to work here. I think the experience in this area is a good preview of my career and future. I am learning some important skills and finding out some things about myself and the tough skin I will need in order to stay in the area of juvenile support.
An internship is the most valuable experience from outside of campus to have before graduation. Regardless of any internship, it provides and add values to the education to students. It facilitates wonderful experience that links between theorems and field practice. While it is true that sales happens between customer and seller by providing either product or service, however, going door-to-door without them knowing who are you, why are you here and what do you want surpasses my understanding of doing sales. Nevertheless, by using the eight steps of selling, one can utilized them fully to have an enjoyable summer. Which are approach, set up, define the need, filling in the need, closing, cementing and pre-approach.
