When I think back to the time right before we started writing our essay I realize that in order to come up with any ideas for the paper we had to chew on one thought for over ten minutes. For example when I read the sentence that we wrote about fast-paced live of professionals that reside in the city, I remember that just that one sentence took us about fifteen minutes to finally use it on our paper. It seems like we should have done some free-writing before we started this assignment. When we started to write this essay we didn’t have a clear visual on our thesis. We had lots of information that was scattered and had no connection between the Robot, the Jeep and the advertisement that was being talked about. In this essay I included lots
In this report I aim to produce a large organisation that will, if created, be successful within its market. I shall search and provide relevant background research and empirical evidence to help create the organisation. The main aims for this report are to produce an organisational and management structure that is appropriate for the company I aim to create.
Writing about writing is the hardest thing to write. It’s like therapy on the experience of writing which feels so intimate and makes me very uncomfortable. I researched and wrote about the injustices female filmmakers face in their day to day struggle, I found the hard numbers on how many women are actually getting paid to do the jobs they spent their lives preparing for. Bringing me back to writing about writing, I’d rather do the work and not marinate on the feelings it brought up since they were not happy feelings, yet I know from my time at Antioch that the only way to process and absorb the research itself is to marinate on it. So bare with me and my marinating on the injustices done to women in the film industry, and the trickle down effect of how women portrayed on film affects the entire world and all the women that inhabit it.
After accepting the post of a year 2 class teacher at St John’s Primary School, I have analysed the data given to begin to gain an understanding of my future class. DFE (2011) Teachers’ Standard six notes that you must use relevant data to monitor progress, set targets, and plan subsequent lessons. Even though I have been given a variety of information, it is important that I do not form any general beliefs and presumptions about the children in my class before getting to know them in person. Instead I will use the data to give me an idea of the areas I need to focus on when starting my new job.
Effective organizational structures define how job tasks are subdivided, grouped, coordinated, and managed. Six key components of organizational structures include division of labor, departmentalization, chain of command, span of control, centralization, and formalization (Remme, Jones, Van der Heijden, & De Bono, 2008, p. 79). Each element influence how employees interact with each other to reach organizational goals. Different structures are common in similar organizations among high performing organizations (Reimann, 1974, p. 707). The most appropriate structure will depend on the unique needs and culture of the organization.
Inquiry is an interactive way of learning. Students are actively engaged in their studies. Inquiry involves student-centered activities focusing on questioning, exploring, and posing explanations. The goal of inquiry is to introduce a new way of learning where students can learn about the world around them through active engagement in real-life examples. Inquiry based learning can be incorporated into all academic subjects throughout the curriculum. Science could possibly be the most effective subject to incorporate inquiry.
The following case study is to consider the influence of developmental factors on teaching practice, by providing further ways to apply knowledge of childhood development in a realistic classroom situation. Robert is 9 years old and has moved to an academically rigorous school. He is also having to come to terms with a new curriculum following the International Baccalaureate program. It is clear that he is not coping with his move as well as the new curriculum. He is quiet, and not making an effort to seek new friendships. His teacher has noted that he was struggling with his reading as well as writing. His teacher is requesting more assistance from the learning resources unit to help him along with his writing as well as reading. He is also noted to be having trouble with mathematics, with his abstract reasoning, which has led to a diminished confidence. This case study response, will demonstrate an understanding of intellectual, physical language, emotional, moral, social and psychological development of especially Robert. As well as the ability to identify learning and teaching approaches that cater to the developmental needs of students within the classroom.
Nowadays people are living in a world which is composed of various organizations. Every organization has specific members and environments to perform its functions. Thus, how to arrange an organization and make the organization developed successfully has became a relevant issue. The way to answer this question is “management”. Management is the scientific way to make organizations to work continually. People who are responsible for organizing subordinates and organisational resources are called managers. To discuss the authorities and responsibilities of management, management theoreticians classify management into different levels. Some management theoreticians particularly classify management into four levels. However, most of the
In this assessment you will have the opportunity to present evidence that shows you are able to:
The organization has a bureaucratic structure. Roles are hierarchically arranged with a single chain of command from top to bottom of the organization (Senior, & Fleming, 2006, p.74). Duties are carried out impersonally in conformity with defined rules. O&T Co. follows the hierarchy principle and separation of members in the different subgroups. Also, centralization and traditionalism are common structures within the company. The number of procedures understood is less than the number of written ones (Senior, & Fleming, 2006, p.73).
Classrooms are micro communities that demonstrate and communicate to learners the value of their belongingness to the community. When classrooms are poorly constructed to support student growth, it communicates that the student is not important nor is what is being taught for their life. Children by themselves cannot fail reading and writing skills. It is the value held that they simply were never given the opportunity. The human mind and the great potential of the mind to absorb and demonstrate its capabilities is too great and too vests to be limited to grading and tests scores as the singular vehicle of measurement. Also some children have delayed growth factors that promote the need for more time to learn the skills beyond a school’s grading periods. As result of the deconstructed learning environment, there is little academically charged energy or materials to motivate reading acquisition skills in a meaningful way. As a result of the initial review of the reading data, looking at significant factors and approaches to impacting low tests scores in the elementary grades, this study is undertaken to evaluate whether the use of a Constructivists Approach to developing a the reading program will significantly impact reading scores for elementary learners? By adopting the methods, approaches, and principles found in the Child Development Theory driven approach, it is the belief of this researcher that acquisition of reading skills will
To learn is to acquire knowledge or skill. Learning also may involve a change in attitude or behavior. Children learn to identify objects at an early age; teenagers may learn to improve study habits; and adults can learn to solve complex problems. Pilots and aviation maintenance technicians (AMTs) need to acquire the higher levels of knowledge and skill, including the ability to exercise judgment and solve problems. The challenge for the aviation instructor is to understand how people learn, and more importantly, to be able to apply that knowledge to the learning environment. This handbook is designed as a basic guide to educational psychology. This chapter addresses that branch of psychology directly concerned with how people learn.
Vocational training is the primary motivation to enter a profession which gives you the opportunity to start work and
‘Pedagogy’ is the term which is used to describe different practices of teaching and learning. Teaching Australia (2008) defined pedagogy as ‘the art and science of educating children, the strategies for using teacher professional knowledge, skills and abilities in order to foster good learning outcomes’ (p.3). Teaching and learning is a two-way process. Teachers choose the effective instruction modes to disseminate knowledge. Students adapt to different learning styles and use different learning strategies to help them process the information. When teachers receive evaluations and feedbacks from students, they revise, reconstruct and re-enact their teaching mode in order to meet students’ needs. Teaching refers to different teaching approaches such as lecturing, practice drills, directed questioning, discussion, constructivism and problem solving. Marsh, Clarke and Pittaway (2015) mentioned that effective teachers are capable to use a wide range of instructional modes in teaching that reflects their flexibility in their teaching. Learning refers to the strategies that children used to assist their study and digest the new knowledge. Strategies to help learning are chunking, story-grammar training, self-questioning, summarization, mnemonic images and concept mapping. These methods are useful for the process of retention, which means the ways by which knowledge is retained in our memory for later retrieval (Mclnerney, 2015a). The first section of the essay will describe my
