College athletes work hard. Is there a way to pay college athletes? College athletes should be and paid because they work hard and there college are getting lots of money from tournaments and the colleges are not even paying their athletes. There is a way to pay the athletes without giving them a paycheck, the college should set up a bank account for 5,000 dollars.

College athletes should be paid because, they work hard. A typical division 1 college football player devotes 43.3 hours per week to his sport -- 3.3 more hours than the typical American work week. Bradley Roby a cornerback for the Ohio state buckeyes says "Definitely, man, how these colleges are running football programs nowadays is just like the NFL," Roby said. "I feel like it’s just like the NFL.” On the con side they are saying that college athletes shouldn't be paid because they are making money on autographs, endorsements, jobs, and control of their image and likeness. …show more content…

Experts say that college athletes should have a bank account set up for them with money in it so that college athletes would not have an actual paycheck. Joe Nocera a New York Times writer Suggest that, we should set up bank accounts for the college athletes. He says “I would impose a minimum salary: $25,000 per player in each sport. This would obviously not make the athletes rich, but it would give them enough to live like typical college students”. The other side of the conversation says that, the colleges can’t afford to set up bank accounts for every college sports player.
