Management principles are guidelines for the decisions and actions of managers. Authority Authority is the power an organization gives to a supervisor to do something or to get something done. There are two types of authority: formal and informal. Formal authority comes with the position a person holds in the organization. Informal authority, also referred to as personal authority, is the power you have because of your abilities and personal traits. In my opinion, authority is means want to control something in your hand. Formal authority means use law or rules to control the store or public place.
