Organizational change is predictable and expected. Even though changes are necessary at some point within the running of an organization, timing will play a huge factor. With my experience in Delta, there have been a few organizational changes that have occurred for the betterment of the sorority. One change/intervention involved the memorandum placed on membership intake. A memorandum is known as a form of communication recording and documenting the terms of a contract or details. The purpose of the memorandum was to put the new membership intake process, across the globe, on hold to bring back and get current members to re-dedicate themselves and become active again within the community and organization. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. believed that if there are thousands of current members with many who are neither active nor financial once they are officially members for a year or two, what would be the purpose to seek new members when the same occurrence will come
As I started Bloomfield College I have always been interest in joining a sorority. I went to many different interested meeting and none of them caught my attention like Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc. did. When I sat down and listen to their history and their goals it really made me change my mind and realize that Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc. was the one. I am a proud Latina and to know that they were the first sorority ever created to cater towards the needs of Latinas in the nation made me more excited and enthusiastic on being part of the interested ladies. The main thing that captured my interest was to know that Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc. is a scholarly excellence sorority. As any person would think a sorority is about partying and having fun I believe this one focus more on their educational future and to achieve their goals.

Sigma Sigma Sigma’s mission is to ensure a perpetual bond of friendship, develop strong womanly character and promote high standards of ethical conduct. Organization Development is a body of knowledge and practice that enhances organizational performance and individual development, by increasing alignment among the various systems within the overall system. The title of the article gives a slight insinuation that organization development is not appreciated as much as it should be embraced by those who could benefit from its services. According to the authors, there are four areas that seem to be viewed as divergent. Oxford Dictionaries, defines divergent as “Tending to be different or develop in different directions” (divergent: definition of divergent in Oxford dictionary (American English) (US), n.d.). Therefore, instead of viewing these OD processes as divisive or multidirectional, it is also possible to view them as complimentary. These four areas are: “development versus change, episodic versus continuous change, planned versus emergent change, and diagnostic versus dialogic OD” (Cummings, T. & Cummings, C., 2014, p. 141). Viewing OD techniques in new or more correct ways that would enhance its processes and perception is of benefit to not only the practitioner, but also its clients. OD’s desire is to make clear its intentions to be socially, economically, and humanistically sound as a discipline.
