The speaker of “How to Prepare for an Interview” explains key information that you should know prior to attending an interview. She provides us with details about three categories which are professional resume, knowledge of the company, and appropriate final questions. The speaker gives numerous details about how to prepare for an interview and her knowledge towards preparation.

A good rule to follow is to dress for the job you want, not the job you have. If you are currently a bank teller and want to become a branch manager, identify the successful branch managers and emulate their manner of dress.

Over the span of 150 years the flour industry in Minnesota has changed massively. The Minnesota flour industry got started in 1869. In Minnesota the industry was very small before Charles Pillsbury. In 1869 Pillsbury came west from New Jersey to Minnesota. Charles was full of courageous thoughts about starting a new business. Charles Pillsbury started a wonderful flour industry. Within 5 years the business was on fire. One of the reasons why our state succeeded in the flour industry is because we had many railroads and grains traveled by the trains.

It has been disputed that clothes does make the man and it certainly can be a deal breaker on several occurrences, particularly during first impressions, whether on a first date, meeting the parents, or at an interview. If at job interview the candidate is dressed inappropriately, chances are he/she may not be hired. A job interview is an opportunity to market oneself in the most notable way possible. Part of an advertiser’s job is to keep up with trends so their appearance should be attractive and fashionable. The outfit is accessorised with a fashionable handbag. Therefore this outfit is appropriate for working in the corporate world.

This includes dressing appropriately for the setting and customarily would be business attire. The attendee should bring multiple copies of their resume and if seeking a different job or position in another industry, to bring separate resume versions. The applicant should also do their best to research prior to the event, this may be registering for the career fair and discovering which companies will be in attendance. A good saying is, “If you’re not 5 mins early, you’re 10 mins late”. Showing up late can have one immediately dismissed. One suggestion LifeHack makes is if you feel like the interview is too far away from you, suggest to the interviewer to doing an online interview.
