My high school art teacher, Jackie Tingle, inspired me to create and further my education in art. Through her constructive criticism and her wonderful teaching skills she easily allowed me to develop my own skills as an artist. In a world full of two-dimensional characters, I found it amazing that she was a successful artist. Before I met her, I did not know it was even remotely possible to have a career in art. To this day, I still have respect for her and how she carries herself. Even at times when students treated her disrespectfully she remained professional. For this project, my first thought was to incorporate our beagles into the piece because it unifies us, besides our passion for creating art. Often the topic of conversation was Sammy, my dog or her dog, Litti. I also wanted to incorporate her love of jewelry. When I combined the two the end result was a dog bone crown made out of cardboard. …show more content…
Before this project I had never worked with cardboard, so it was a challenge I thoroughly enjoyed. After I made a bone that I thought was an acceptable size I made 7 more. My original goal was to create an octagonal base out of bones for the crown and then build upon it with smaller bones. However, when I completed the bones I put them in the shape of the base without glue. I did not like how that appeared and the crown became too big. Therefore, I changed my base to three bones and created a triangle instead. It was much more minimalistic which would have suited Mrs. Tingle anyway. Afterwards, I glued them together and added dog food to represent the jewels on a crown. Then I spray painted the crown a sparkly white, to resemble bones but to also meet the aesthetic of
In 1919 Jackie was born. He had 4 other sibling, and his dad had left them with only their mother to take care of them. His mother bought a house on a white family street and were the only other black family living there. In high school, he got 4 letters in basketball, baseball, track, and football. Later on, he married his wife, and they had 3 kids. The kids names were Jackie Jr., Sharon and David. His son later died in a car accident.
The teacher and the course assignment that has impacted me the most have both come from my Psychology 2301 class. My teacher’s name was Professor Dalmolin, and I completed my final honors project with her. She was so full of energy and loved to teach. Any question you had, she almost always had an answer, and if she didn’t, she would make sure we didn’t leave the classroom until she looked up the answer and got back to us. This is why I made sure to end my honors journey with her, and I am glad I did. My project was on emotional Intelligence and it involved a lot of medical research (in which I have no interest), and she was very helpful and even found articles on her own time that she thought would be beneficial to my project. Professors that
There is a quote that I have embraced during my professional journey I like that state, “The influence of a good teacher can never be erased”. As a product of the Muscogee County School district, my life mirrors that statement. If it were not for my awesome teachers I would not be the person and teacher I am today. Growing up poor, I lived in Wilson Apartments and attended Fox Elementary School. It was my kindergarten teacher Mrs. Vignery that ignited my passion to become a teacher. She would always hold my hand and made me feel loved despite my many issues. As a result, I wanted to pass this love to my students. I cannot remember not one single thing that she taught me, but I will never forget how she made me feel. I find myself holding
Most people have or have had a teacher that has inspired them. For me, the teacher that comes to mind is Mr. Rod Edson. There are many great things that describe Mr. Edson, but a few stand out to me more than others. Mr. Edson has inspired me in many ways because he has a great sense of humor, he is laid-back, and he is motivational.
Through twelve years of school the teacher that stands out is my band teacher, Amanda Posey. She made me a better person, helped me grow up, and taught me many skills that I will use. She has made a positive impact and difference on my life. Posey has a passion for teaching music, teaches life lessons, and challenges her students making her an amazing teacher.
Upon hearing the name “Jackie Kennedy,” many think of elegance, sophistication, power, and first lady. Many individuals, including Mrs. Rhonda Vining, like Jacqueline because “she seemed like the perfect first lady.” She is also thought of as educated, stylish, poised, and seemed like a caring mother (Vining). Jackie became the first youngest American First Lady in the United States’ history at the age of 31. She had become famous and known around the world because she was the wife of the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy and made it a duty for her to restore the White House ("Jackie Kennedy Biography"). She had her own priorities and passions. She made it clear that she would strive to be a good wife and protect her family
She is a great inspiration to me, and inspires me even more to become a teacher.
Throughout my high school career, a teacher that has had an impact on my life consists of Michael Sherwin. He is my Advanced Placement Government and Advanced Placement U.S. History teacher. Mr. Sherwin proves to be prominent in my high school career because his lectures in class are always enjoyable and very comprehensive. He is very knowledgeable on the subjects that he teaches and he is able to provide insight on countless topics. As his student, he is the reason that I have taken the initiative to partake in much more difficult classes throughout high school.
Everyone has encountered an individual in their life that that has greatly influenced them to be the person they are today. Some will find it is through direct family members, friends, or a public figure. In my own life, that individual is musician and poet Alex Turner. He has influenced me in a number of ways including; inspiring me to take writing seriously, introducing me to new literature, and teaching me the art of thinking before speaking.
My teacher inspired me to go above and beyond my normal capabilities, and to reach out to others that were in distress. He inspired me to become a better leader, a better person, and a good role model for many kids in the classes below me. David Glasscock was his name, he is a generous man he invests in other to provide them with the tools necessary to be successful. Without his words of advice, I most likely wouldn´t be the same person that I am today.
People ask me who inspires me the most in the world and the ones that pop right into mind are my mother and Mrs. Napoli. Mama Naps is the only one who left a lasting impression in my life. She has done so much for other students including myself. She always goes out of her way to make sure her ‘kids’ are always flourishing.

My homeroom teacher at the time had the most impact on me than any other mentors I had. People say
The biggest influential mentor in my life (aside from my parents) is Erica Ireland by far. Erica is my dance teacher and has always been that person who can make me smile when I’m having one of the worst days. Not only that, but she’s someone that will listen and will make sure that I know everything is going to be okay. She’s been my dance teacher for only about four years, but ever since I started dancing at Studio Dance, I
For some reason or another certain students are drawn to particular teachers while other students are more fond of others. In my life I have studied under three memorable teachers. Teachers with which I was able to connect, to laugh, to share my misgivings. While I may have been close with each of these teachers, it is very clear, in retrospect, that each was very unique, and represented an entirely different class of teacher.
