The company is best known for its flagship product Coca-Cola, invented in 1886 by pharmacist John Stitch Pemberton in Columbus, Georgia. The Coca-Cola formula and brand were bought in 1889 by Asa Griggs Candler (December 30, 1851 – March 12, 1929), who incorporated The Coca-Cola Company in 1892. The company has operated a franchised distribution system since 1889, wherein The Coca-Cola Company only produces syrup concentrate, which is then sold to various bottlers throughout the world who hold exclusive territories. The Coca-Cola Company owns its anchor bottler in North America, Coca-Cola Refreshments.

Biedenharn sent a case to Asa Griggs Candler, who owned the Company. Candler thanked him but took no action. One of his nephews already had urged that Coca-Cola be bottled, but Candler focused on fountain sales.

I enjoyed taking “Careers in Psychology” and have learned more about the possibilities available with a degree in Psychology. Furthermore, while taking this course I have made some progress towards my goals. I have numerous goals, however, some short-term goals I plan to accomplish within the next two years are the following: secure a research assistant opportunity this summer, take the GRE and GRE Psychology Subject Test by September of this year, graduate with a B.S. degree in Psychology from Fort Hays through the Virtual College at end of Fall 2017, and apply to Clinical Psychology Ph.D. programs by December of this year.

It does not, however, do a good job of stating why its operation is better than anyone else’s. As a result, it does not define the competitive environment. Most of the ideals that Coca-Cola lists are generic -- every firm wants to do good by its shareholders and its customers. Consequently, the mission statement needs refined if it is to be taken seriously.
