Standard 5 for the NAEYC professional preparation is “Using Content Knowledge to Build Meaningful Curriculum” With the key element “Knowing and using the central concepts, inquiry tools, and structures of content areas or academic disciplines” the artifact in which I choose is the rebus recipe that I competed in my Health, Safety, and Nutrition class. This was a recipe that children could easily use and make their snack themselves. This is why this tool fits well with this key element and the NAEYC standards.
This project was one of my favorites and still is a snack that I make with my own children all the time. Having rebus recipes that children can follow easily. Something that children can make pretty much on their own. In the teaching
NAEYC is the National Association for the Education of young children. The NAEYC standards are 1.Relationship standard is promoting positive among all children and adults and it is when all the children see it. The children want to have a relationship with their teachers who help children resolve conflicts and find their feelings. 2.Curriculum standard has a topic in these areas. They are social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive. They also have to make sure that the children learn through play and have the work through their problems. 3. Teaching standard is where teacher engage children to learn new stuff. 4.Assessment standard benefit children and teachers by knowing if the children have a disability and will let them know
I liked that we each had partners. We could work with them in case we needed any help. I also liked how the steps were set up. They would carefully direct us to success. The last thing I liked was how each of the students subconsciously made the project into a contest and we all started to do our best. This gave us motivation to have the best paper airplane in the class.

Based on the NCCT practice exam I need to review pharmacology, infection exposure control and safety, phlebotomy, other diagnostic test and ECG troubleshooting and maintenance. I did not do very well on the NCCT practice exam. I know I need to study all the possible abbreviations some of them I just could not recall. A study goal that I want to achieve is to be able to describe in detail what certain body functions are and how they work. I also what to feel confident that I am going to pass the NCCT exam after I have complete everything that I need to review and study. I like the idea of breaking my study goals down into manageable study task helping access where I need to apply most of my studying. Some of the thoughts that I have for being
The artifact I have chosen to attach to the discussion board was CE230 unit nine project. What I learned based on that assignment was how to develop creative activities for young children from the age of five and seven. After completing the different activities with the students in this project we had to show what were the student’s objective and what leaning experience where you trying to achieve and was it accomplished with this activity. Example after completing the activity you would indicated if the student was able to follow directions. You would observe if the child was able to correctly solve the problems and it the students showed interest in the game. I recalled when I was in grade school we played Math Bingo it was fun and educational.
The patient tells me that she is unsure when her last menstrual cycle was. Her periods are very irregular and she had not been keeping track of it. She and her husband have been attempting pregnancy for the last year and a half and she tells me that as of Thursday, August 27th, she and her husband had gone through the procedures for adoption. She said that she knows she ovulated on August 18th. She was using an ovulation kit. She took a home pregnancy test on the 28th, which was positive, repeated with a different brand of test on the 29th and that was also positive. She has a regular gynecologist with York Gynecology, Robert Cervenka, MD, that she uses regularly, and she already has an appointment with him

Detailed, step-by-step lesson plan (this section should be very detailed – the bulk of each lesson plan. Make sure lessons are as student-driven/active as possible).
The content competency I will be addressing is Standard 6: Professionalism, Criteria A. It states, “Adheres to federal and state laws, school policies, and ethical guidelines”. One thing that I have learned these last two years is my students are always watching what I do. No matter what the situation may be, they are always observing how I act, how I react, what I say, what I do, what I wear, and overall how I carry myself every day. Yes, they do look to me for educational guidance, but they also look to me as a mentor and role model. As a result, I must always make sure I am following all federal and state laws, school policies, and ethical guidelines not only so I
The standards written for NAEYC have been chosen through the appropriate research, to suite multiple situations and practices. By learning more in depth of the theorists and researchers that have made NAEYC what it is today, allows us to see origins of each standard and how they have developed from theory, into a standard in today’s education. Through learning its history, we can fully understand the connotation of seeking the best solutions for achieving successful educational outcomes through research and observation of needs.
The ‘potion’ that the kids made at the Dorr Museum was an open ended project, we gave the kids instructions for how to get the activity started, but the end result was completely in their hands. They had the choice to pick from several different objects with fragrances to include in their project, which fragrances and how much of each fragrance they wanted was up to them. Similarly, at the Discovery Museum, the kids were making insect headbands, I would get them started on the headband part, but what they added to the band was all up to them. Most
Lastly it would be important for me to make sure children can use the materials and resources on their own to encourage independence but also ensure the items can be used in a group. This will encourage children to collaborate
Activity are planned to extend children learning and development area as they learn new words and able to build on their communication and language by describing and explaining what they are doing and asking question. This also extends their vocabulary example the children enjoy playing with weighing scales so I plan activities using different resources such as lentils instead of sand or dry pasta to learn numbers, sizes, quantities etc.
Throughout the day I was able to learn and see the structure in which this program is designed and how it works for the children. Because it was a summer school program they merely just played and had fun most of the day. The biggest group activity was doing the craft for the day. Some kids were eager to participate and other were not. The project was manageable but somewhat difficult and it took all hands-on deck to get it finished. The teachers decided to bring in the kindergarten class so that the older kids could help them get through it. The bigger kids were troopers and really stepped up to help them. The teacher maintained a well-structured and organized classroom even when there were lots of children.
