There are numerous attributes an outstanding teacher exhibits inside and outside of the classroom. Inside the classroom, a teacher is able to offer a positive learning environment, deliver instruction effectively, be fair, and be able to monitor and adjust right away. Outside of the classroom, a teacher actively participates in the community, is an influential teammate, receptive to reinforcement, is an exceptional role model, and is available for communication to parents. An outstanding teacher puts their students first. In which means, their classroom is well-planned and laid out to ensure that students are learning effectively. An effective teacher is someone who increases the understanding of a pupil. Effective teaching is the ability of providing instructions to students of varying abilities while incorporating instructional objectives and assessing the effective education form of students. In the evaluation of performance, efficiency on the lesson plan and technique of delivery forms form part of the criteria taken into consideration. The teacher's practices that ensure the higher level of assessment and active participation are most successful. This outdo all the factors, such as size of the class, socioeconomic conditions and gender (Sullivan 2001). The most significant aspect that gears a student to perform well is the teachers details of classroom practices as demonstrated in one of the video links "Pre-primary: Science -> Mini Beasts". They must have sufficient familiarity with the techniques and methods associated with their career and must certify that the pupil learning must develop over the course of the year (Sullivan 2001).
What distinguishes outstanding teachers from other teachers, is the immeasurable impact they make on their students. They understand that teaching is a group effort. Therefore, they create a mutual, respectful and honest relationship with students, parents and administration. Disruption rarely occurs in their classroom, because they create a positive classroom environment where students feel free to share ideas without ridicule. They use diverse instructional strategies by accommodating and modifying instructions as necessary to support the unique needs of their students. What defines a great teacher? A great teacher is someone that can come in everyday and put a smile of their face and try to make a difference in their students lives. A great teacher is a teacher is a person that care about their students and want the best for them no matter. A great teacher is a person who tries to push their students to their top academic performance and inspire their students to follow their dreams and to achieve them. Outstanding! Dynamic! Engaged! Driven! These are all words that I’ve heard used to describe who I am. My own personal feelings are a little more intuitive. Caring! Concerned! Committed! Combining all of these terms would lead one to believe that there is something extra ordinary about me, however, the truth is, it’s not me, there is something bigger at stake here, something larger driving this machine. That thing is Purpose, Purpose in fact is what makes me an outstanding teacher. I am purposed to be at my school, in my room, with my students and we have a calling to fulfill, we all understand this and that too makes me an outstanding teacher. The rewards I find in teaching are tantamount, just today a student said to me “I used to hate Social Studies but now I love it” eight days in and they’re already loving it. See, I believe that teaching is a calling and those whom are called have already been purposed to achieve great things.
“Average teachers teach a skill, until students get it right. Highly effective teachers work with students until they can’t get it wrong” (Jensen, 2016). An effective teacher makes good use of instructional time and inspires students to do well and to know more. Each and every student in the class has to feel comfortable and have the sense of belonging. The classroom has to be conducive to learning and has the proper lighting so that learning can easily take place. Effective teachers are required to put in extra time, work and commitment therefore; characteristics of an effective teacher would include positive expectation, classroom management, and lesson mastery.

Every teacher wants to be a good teacher, but what is a good teacher? Who is it? What are the characteristics of a good teacher and how can you become one? What qualities should a good teacher possess. A good teacher must be knowledgeable in his or her subject of specialisation, passionate, approachable, good communicator and professional.
The definition of a good teacher is one that is dependent on opinion. Should you ask a pupil, you would probably get a different answer than if you ask a teacher. From a student teacher perspective, a good teacher must have a variety of qualities that can be adapted to different situations in the classroom. Three of the most predominant aspects of being a good teacher include the ability to be inclusive for all, the balance between fun and theoretical learning and being passionate.
A good teacher is someone who focuses on students needs and styles of learning. Every student has different way of learning. In my experience to become a good teacher one must take the time to speak and observe their students. I always observe my students when they are speaking. One thing I have learned is to always ask the students what activity we will be doing in their own words. This way I can see if they understand and are paying attention.
The main characteristic of a good/effective teacher is one that actually cares about his/her students. When I was in high school, I had a teacher that specifically worked with me in English because I could not learn the rules of English the way that other kids could. She actually cared enough about my education to take time to work with me which led me to a more successful high school career. I learned better the way she taught me because she gave great instruction.

A list of characteristics should be included in some of the instruments used in the identification process. The reason that this should occur is to be more consistent with the identification process thus allowing it to be more valid. In order to become valid, it is “can be documented to be measuring what it claims to measure” (Callahan et al 89). If there are no characteristics that a teacher is guided by it becomes much more biased and less objective. Also, you have a wide range of teachers from novice to veteran that are analyzing these students and in order to help out some of the new teachers it would give them a guide as to what they are looking for in the student identification process. On the other end, a veteran teacher sometimes because complacent and does not necessarily see everything that could be indicators of a gifted student, again allowing the teacher have a guide. Another reason, is from a training standpoint the teachers should be trained in looking at specific traits that are “typical” of a gifted student. This makes it easier for the district to train by using the characteristic checklist as a guide for identifying gifted students. In many of the readings and definitions that have been discussed throughout the class so far it is that part of a definition of defining gifted is “teacher training requirements” (Clarenbach & Eckert 32). These characteristics can be broad enough that a teacher is not biased but it helps guide them to as to what services
A good teacher chooses carefully when they develop lesson plans and they adjust it to the needs of their students. Children always come first in education, and that is why the decision they make should always be based on how they will affect the students. Good teaching is about caring for your craft, having a passion for it, and conveying that passion to everyone, but mostly importantly to your students.
