Personal Accountability Study

My goal in life is to pursue a career I will love participating in and commit to fully.

At the end of my senior year of high school, I had to make a senior portfolio; part of the project was to write down your goals and make a timetable for where you see yourself in five or ten years. I wrote that my goal in life is to be happy and I skipped the timetable because if my goal is to be happy then I can’t plan out how to obtain that goal. Who knows what will make me happy in five years? Life is constantly changing; nothing actually stays the same. It is important to set goals for yourself, but my idea of goals is different. I want to be happy and my goal is to take whatever smaller steps are necessary to get there.

There are many goals that I have in my current life, some are more important than others, but I am committed to accomplishing the ones that will have a greater impact in both my professional and personal life. I am very optimistic that I will reach these goals with self-discipline and dedication. Below are my three main goals:

I want to be successful and that is my main goal. This year, especially, I have been working hard to reach my educational goals. I know I am a smart student and I need to work to my full potential. When I am off on my own I want to be responsible and independent instead of relying on my mom all of the time. I plan to work even harder in the future so I can achieve many things. I want to be able to choose my own career, be happy with it, and be the successful person I know I can be.

I am not sure where I would like to purchase my first home at this particular time because I am not sure if I want to stay in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana or move to Atlanta, Georgia. By being the only child and not sure if I want to move back home to Marrero, Louisiana, but I will continue to way my options before deciding on the exact location. Also, my personal plan within in the next year is to purchase a new car. In the next 5 years, my personal goals are to be in a committee relationship and traveling to Hawaii, Jamaica, London, Paris, Africa, and Costa Rica. Most of my financial goals are long term. I plan to be able to save enough to live a comfortable life after retirement. I also plan to grow my savings by way of managing my own investments. I am writing this essay to explain the importance of keeping proper accountability of your personal belongings and the importance and the harmful effects of alcohol abuse and the damages it can have on your body. I am going to start with the first hand effects of alcohol abuse. Sometimes it can be fun to get so drunk that you can’t walk straight or even talk in a complete sentence but what you don’t realize is the effect it has on your brain all of the alcohol that you consume sends toxins to you brain which is that feeling of lightness and sometimes dizziness is your body’s way of telling you you’ve had enough if you get that feeling and you stop drinking it okay, but if you continue to push your body past that limit is when it starts to get dangerous and your body starts to shut down first your legs go and then your speech.

My short-term (within 5 years) goal is to become Country-Head / CEO of Morningstar’s international business unit in Asia or Latin America, and build it into a profitable and sustainable organization. My long-term (within 10 years) goal is to become a CEO of Morningstar’s international business globally. Personally, I am passionate about teaching, acting, adventure sports and fitness. My personal goals are to run a marathon and to set-up a nonprofit organization in the field of education.

Goals are set in place within a person's life in order to keep track of progress towards both personal and financial success. Goals are usually made after a person finds something that they are passionate about and wants to pursue. Becoming a neonatal nurse practitioner would be my ultimate career goal. In order to reach that goal I have set a few educational goals of completing by bachelor's of social work at Coppin State University by the Summer of 2017, completing my associates of the arts degree in nursing from Howard Community College by Spring 2019, and completing my bachelor's of science in nursing degree by Spring 2021.

The circumstances that I have encountered in life have set me to be the one person people run to for help. At a young age I was always taught to hold myself accountable, my word of accountability is all that I have. Throughout life, if I have accepted helping someone I will find a way to get it done, making myself a dependable person. In my family, alongside my parents I have helped them manage our household. At a young age I had to keep a calendar and know when the bills. This was my way of helping my father who had to work long hours, and my mother who did not know English. Now as a professional, I preform casework, people come seeking the Senator to help them out, and even if it not a federal situation they know they can call me to help get their matter resolved as soon as possible.

The goals that I have planned for myself are quite common. The main goal is to achieve the self-confidence and self-satisfaction derived from becoming an educated individual with increased knowledge and abilities. Educationally, I wish to build upon my past experiences and capabilities. Professionally, I hope to work in my current career and obtain additional skills related to accounting.

Long-term goals are my ultimate career goals - to become a business consultant and early retirement.

To aim high in life you must have a guide plan to show you the path of success. My personal life goal is to become well-known businessman that adds values to my country, community, and family. The thing that can make all this happen is money. To insure well-paid job, you need proper education therefore, my short-term goal is to finish my masters’ degree in the united state, where you can get the best educational opportunity in the world. After that, I can go back to my country and apply everything I learned in a decent job with a good status until I become well trained and have a lot of experience.
