The advising and teaching they have placed apond my life has always kept me going in the right direction, like a train on the tracks headed to its destination. Providing me with a role model and even a motivator at times of shakiness. Latching on to me, has been their excellent exhibit of leadership. This trait of leadership they have placed on my life has taught myself how to lead others, along with the importance of leadership. Leaders come in all shapes and forms. A leader is not based on age, gender, race, wealth, or social status. Leadership can be found anywhere throughout the world. Every leader has once had a mentor to push them to discover their own leading
Leadership can mean something different to everyone. To me leadership encompasses many things. Leadership is being able to motivate others to achieve. Leadership is listening to what others have to say and acting on it. Leadership is using interpersonal skills to communicate with others. Leadership is being a good example to others.
Understanding what leadership is, it is leading, influencing, commanding and guiding people. A good leader leads the pack, influence them as a role model, command them and sticks them together in crisis and guide them to be the best in professional as well as personal life. Thinking about who are leaders or are they made, in my personal view, I would say that, everyone is a born leader, where some stands up and fly, and some others sit back and watch.

My definition of leadership is, “Leadership is the art of providing challenges, opportunities and direction to others in an effort to motivate them towards providing sustainable solutions or completing pre-determined objectives or tasks. My positive Leadership influences during my Coast Guard career include a Damage Control Chief, who provided countless challenging opportunities, a Boatswain Mate Chief who went out his way to recognize exceptional work as well as requiring the correction of sub par work, a Telephone Technician Chief and two Electronics Warrant Officers for providing limited direction, and all previously mentioned members for allowing me to practice leadership as I have defined it above.
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, leadership is, “the office or position of a leader,” or, “the act or instance of leading.” To me, leadership is the ability to take control of a situation or group in order to move in a positive direction. For example, say your 4-H club is dwindling in numbers. You have an idea on how to keep the people who are in it interested and how to build the club up again, you should share your ideas and become proactive. Due to you taking control of what needs to happen, you’re already a leader; your club will look up to you. Basically, to me leadership is all about assessing the situation, then doing the best thing you can do to improve the situation you and others are in. I consider myself a
Do you have what it takes to become a great leader? There are many leadership qualities a person can possess, but it is another thing if people exercise those qualities. People who develop their leadership qualities prior to becoming a leader are better able to lead their team. As Jack Welch said, “Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others.” ( ) In order to become a leader that people want to follow, a person must be honest and trustworthy, an active listener, give encouragement and motivation, and be an effective communicator.
“Leadership is ultimately about creating a way for people to contribute to making something extraordinary in the organization” I like this because I believe leaders should help us do not a good job, but a great job.
Leadership is an inventive process that aligns professionals with a goal, objective and or vision statement. It displays your belief in the work that you are outing in for others. Leadership must always emerge and support a visionary statement for what you as a person believe in. Leadership is believed to be the art of leading others to deliberately create a result. In leadership, leaders exemplify themselves as a guiding tool for others in this case for teachers. Leaders must show commitment and work ethic in this all that they do. They must by put their heart and desires into their work, and present the love of Christ to my fellow subordinates and co-workers in all that they do. Effective leaders must remain committed to their values in regards
What is leadership? Leadership is having the ability to give guidance to those that will follow. Those that follow will help to complete the mission. Leadership is an immature science and the body of knowledge in the field has developed through a series of fits and starts. Leadership is a soft science, just as anthropology, sociology and psychology. It can not be proven exactly what it is. Leadership is an art, the skillful application of leadership behaviors beyond techniques is much the same as the skillful application of brushstrokes by a master painter. Leadership is both rational and emotional. It involves both sides of human experience. It includes actions and influences based on reason and logic as well those based on inspiration
Leadership is showing the way and helping or inducing others to pursue it. This entails envisioning a desirable future, promoting a clear purpose or mission, supportive values and intelligent strategies, and empowering and engaging all those concerned. (Cordner 2014). This quote from
The word leadership can mean different things to different individuals. It brings variety of images to our minds as well. It can be from a political leader like Hamid Karzai or Obama, an inspirational person like Ahmad Shah Massoud, Nelson Mandela, Gandhi, or Martin Luther King, an executive like Steve Jobs and for some people it can be someone like Osama Bin Laden, one determined “leader”, who was able to successfully encourage hundreds of his followers to sacrifice their lives. For me Leadership is open-ended as it is so broadly used, but I perceive a leader someone who is a role model in any field and can successfully take the followers to achieve the objectives they ultimately pursue.

Summarizing the idea of Leadership that I have researched, in my opinion, is the capacity to conduct followers to reach goals. Leaders convince followers the necessity of a leadership group to achieve the success. And although, followers use their own expertise to complete a job, they need to be driven by a Leader. A Leader exerts a certain power and influence in their follower that can be direct or indirect. An effective leader knows how to extract the best ability from each follower and although the skill belongs to the followers, some of them perform better when is conducted by a Leader. The ability to influence, comprehends and agree with others about what is necessary to be completed and how doing it as such, as to support individuals and group effort to
What exactly is leadership? Leadership is taking in to accountability your responsibility as a leader and knowing and doing what you need to do to guide people in the right direction. A quote that I thought would be good to share you all is quoted from a person named Vinci Lombardi. In his own words, “Leaders aren’t born, they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work.” From this quote, you figure out that leaders weren’t born as leaders; they worked hard to get to the level where they are now. Even though they may learn aspects on how to lead quicker than someone else does, that doesn’t mean that anyone can’t be a leader. Whether small or big, never give up! A leader also needs to be able to stand up for what
In my opinion, Leadership is someone who takes action, is influential, motivational, and has success and partakes in equal responsibility in a group or organization. This means that as a leader they guide and motivate team members in a positive uplifting way but if they make mistakes they positively guide them in the correct direction. One
