Step 3: Selecting Class Resources
Resources present students with outside material to help them learn. Not only are some of the resources assigned for classroom preparation, but others are meant be a useful guide as students look for online assistance. The most important aspect of this section is selecting updated resources that students will actively use for homework. Secondly, finding helpful outside resources to save students’ time.

This section requires some research. Many resources the class offers are excellent and should remain the same. For example, Lynda tutorials provides visual, step-by-step explanation of processes. The current textbook used is Learning Web Design by Jennifer Robbins (2012), which is outdated for the …show more content…

It is important to consider the experience of students in ENGL 313. While there are a lot of ideas to address in the class, having too many assignments or having unmanageable assignment deadlines inhibits students’ learning potential.

Some recommendations for assignments involve keeping current assignments, but with adjustments. The existing practice exercises are an excellent opportunity for students to train newly acquired information while also offering a challenge. However, rather than having the practice exercises due at the end of the day, they should be extended for the end of the week. A new addition would be weekly quizzes to test students’ knowledge and allow for additional practice. Because there currently is not a clear defined unit within ENGL 313, there is no concluding “big project”. Consider having the students submit a single webpage that incorporates all the design and rhetorical elements necessary for a functioning website in preparation for the next big project.

Assignments are established and allocated appropriately in the timeline. Next, take all previous steps into consideration while writing learning objectives.
