It is not so, Good leaders are made not born. If one has the desire and willpower, he\she can become an effective leader. Good leaders develop through a never-ending process of self-study, education, training, and experience.Leaders must be able to cope with complex technological change in their organizations; general leadership skills are not sufficient in IT enriched environments. Specific technology-related knowledge is required and it must directly relate to the tools, medium, strategies and competencies found within the culture. An IT leader must possess analytical and listening skills as true listening involves insight into what will work today, tomorrow and in the future. The IT leader must take the initiative to try new methods without fear of failure, an enormous task facing the IT leader when deciding on solutions to technology-related issues within his scope of influence. Attrition rate is high in IT industry due to the work pressure wherein managers are not able to spend enough time with their subordinates. In the fast-paced IT work environment, there is very limited time and mind share devoted by a manager to his team member’s personal training and thereby, the manager is not influencing the employee’s perception of growth. Leadership, which is defined as “…The action of leading a group of people or an organization” is used in many different ways. Most people think being a leader is mostly about being the boss, having people work under you and just becoming successful, but it boils down to more than that. Leaders are those individuals that actually utilize their many abilities in leadership and administration to help make a better change for themselves, the people around them and the goal that needs to be achieved. Leadership is not an expertise that can essentially be grabbed from a book or article based on leadership but instead it is one of those initiative abilities that are increased through experience and understanding those real life situations.
Leadership is the process of influencing individuals or a group of individuals by providing purpose, direction with the support of others, and motivating those individuals with the purpose of accomplishing a certain obligation which is helpful to all individual that is involved.
What is leadership? Leadership by definition is the ability of an individual or organization to guide other individuals, teams, or organizations. Without leadership many would just follow one another's actions like blind sheep. Many of the powerful shifts in American history were started by men and women who made the decision to guide and instruct one another rather than being a follower.
There are many ways to define leadership, but perhaps the most laconic as well as accurate definition is presented in Peter G. Northouse's Leadership: Theory and Practice book (Northouse, 2013, p.5): "Leadership is a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal". Individuals, engaged in leadership, use influence to solve challenges, which the groups under their leadership face, in order to succeed in their common goals.

This paper will describe and provide examples surrounding various leadership theories and leadership styles that sustain the definition of a public leader. First, this paper will provide a definition of a public leader. Next, it determine two leadership theories and two leadership styles that support the definition of a public leader. Also, this paper will assess the effectiveness of the two leadership theories. Subsequently, it will assess the effectiveness of the two leadership styles. Further, this paper will utilize proper in-text citations and references, as well as integrate effective techniques of quoting, paraphrasing and summarizing. Finally, it will provide information in a clear, coherent, and consistent manner, using logic to support all ideas.
Leadership styles will vary in different situations for a coach. The same coach may have one style of leadership for different teams in the same sport depending on the players’ ages, nationalities, gender, and personalities (Weinberg & Gould, 2015, p. 212-213). To recognize the consequences of leadership using Chelladurai’s model, the research to determine the type of leadership a coach should demonstrate for team satisfaction, should include satisfaction, cohesion, performance, and intrinsic motivation (Weinberg & Gould, 2015, p. 213-214). According to the Pettinger (2007), the leadership can be explained in several situations. First, the leaders have the responsible to provide vision and direction to the followers. Second, the leaders shall energise and motivate the followers. Third, the leaders shall set and enforce absolute standards of behaviour, attitude, presentation and performance.
