1. Introduction Education export cannot only bring enormous economic benefits to a society, pull the national economic growth to a new point. It also can enhance the political and cultural influence in the international environment. As a result, education export, as an important diplomatic strategy, improves the political status, stimulates the intelligence imports and enhances the exchange and cooperation in scientific research. Nowadays, there is a general tendency that the developed countries (such as U.S., UK) are vigorously developing education service trade, exploring international market and improving education exports. Chinese education exports start late and grow slowly, which causes it to greatly lag behind the developed countries. China is the currently largest country with education adverse balance and educational imports in the international education market. To further study the current situation of Chinese education exports, this article will review the basic concept and development history of education exports, concretely analysis the current situation of Chinese education exports, conclude the challenges and opportunities based on current situation and give some practical suggestions to solve current education exports dilemma. In the further research, the push-and-pull model will be introduced to analyze the strengths and weakness of current Chinese education exports. Based on the analysis, there are four main factors which block the development of
A country’s economic system decides its education system. Since China and Canada have different economic systems, China is developing on a diversified ownership economy, while Canada is running its economy by pure capitalism. It is obvious two different education systems run in those two countries respectively. And from my personal experience and some hearing from my friends, I found five main disadvantages of China’s education comparing with Canada’s education.
Hence, millions of dollars earned from export enable the country to develop on a large school. For example, eighty percent of china’s income from its expected to the rest of the world benefits the country with its expected development such infrastructure with technology and medical
The article is about education business in Canada. There are two main things that article mentioned. First of all, more and more Canadian students go to other countries for study instead of stay in Canada. In this, government will lose huge revenue from education industry. Fortunately, Canada is a popular destination for international student to have better education. The article said international students contribute $8 billion tuition every year in Canada. Moreover, it increased 10 billion to economy and creates more than 86,000 jobs.
Therefore the education system becomes elitist since mostly only the wealthy elite are able to meet the high costs of education. Another issue is the “imbalance between the output of the education system and the needs of the economy” (Pepper 849). China’s secondary and higher schooling was not as well developed and prestigious as the western nations. Therefore the students who did attend these schools were unable to attain jobs once they graduated, since they did not receive the right education or there were not enough jobs for all of them. “These policies have produced large number of school-leavers and graduates who felt their academic training entitled them either to additional education or to positions and salaries they had no chance of achieving” (Pepper 849). The last problem is the difference of thought and ideologies between the older and younger generations. The desires and goals of the older generation which ran the education system did not correspond to the wants of the students.
First comes the benefits. Obviously, there are many advantages of studying abroad. As it is said in the article, there are 4 main benefits: escaping domestic pressures, differentiating yourself, the potential reward of hard work and to learn the language, as well as the culture. The author considers Chinese students are the most hard working students in the world. There are too many hard working students in China which makes the competition so tough and thus students carry a heavy burden of pressure. Studying abroad can be an assured way to escape from the pressure from all directions. Meanwhile, it is easy to compete with those western students who are definitely less hard working comparing with Chinese. So another benefit is to gain the potential reward of hard work. Also, the author thinks one can differentiate oneself from others who study back in China. He argues that, there are few top universities in China, which is supported by the University rank, “Only 10 Mainland Chinese universities are ranked in the top 500. So the grass really is
Economic Changes in Education- Economic changes have an affect on children across America. Many students face poverty, may be homeless, or come from family of migrant workers. These students may have difficulties in school because they have a lot going on at home that affect their ability to focus in school. These students may not have access to proper nutrition or health care when needed. They may have a medical condition that has not been treated. They may be going to school hungry or distracted. They also may not be receiving proper care at home. Homeless students may not attend school because they are moving place to place. Those that do may perform poorly or lack certain skills. They may also feel lonely and isolated from their peers. Migrant students move around with their families and often are starting new schools. They have to adjust to their new school, the instruction, and teachers. They may also have difficulties understanding English. It is important for teachers to have a positive attitude and to welcome all students every day. Teachers should get to know their students in order to know how to help them best. Teachers should have a set routine that is easy to follow so students know what to expect everyday regardless of what is going on in their home life. Being involved and collaborating with families may also help the child. Teachers should also create an environment where students can collaborate and work together. Teachers can also try to help build up
Nowadays, the outlook of the global economy is clearly not optimistic, and there are so many severe issues have been plaguing the world economy in recent years. Such as potential asset bubbles, higher financial market volatility, weaker global demand, and deteriorating monetary and credit crisis, and falling of oil prices, and so on a series of troubles around the world. (World Economic Situation and Prospects 2016 2016)Once when we discuss and analyse those economic problems, it is inevitable to associate with China’s slowdown. Indeed, since China entered WTO, China takes advantages of large population to develop the labour intensive industries like manufacturing to expand the relationship with the world by frequently international trade, as greater interaction and stronger cooperation between China and the world, Chinese economy is merged to the world economy and become an integral part of the global economy. Therefore, the Chinese slowdown is bound to affect the growth of world economy. So the question arises, why China slows down its economy? If exploring further to figure out why, one factor which cannot be ignored is the declining export. (China’s Export Decline Accelerates 2016) Thus, the study I concentrate on is to investigate the reasons of declining export in Chinese international trade.

The unparalleled growth of economies in China over the past thirty decades have sparked a lot of interests from economists, with many arguments and explanations attempting to account for the actual dynamics that influenced such growths. Since the 1970s, the Chinese’s economy has a tendency is constantly increasing. The export-led growth gradually exceeded the import, with an annual growth of 17.2 percent in exports and 16.4 percent in import in 2010 (lse.ac.uk). In fact, implement of the policy of reform and opening, export-led growth is one of the main reasons for Chinese economic prosperity. One of typical examples is Shenzhen, located in southeastern China. Trading export leads Shenzhen’s GDP to rising, which has become the main momentum of economic growth. This success must contribute to its strategic location and geographic location.
However, with the great development of human cultures, Chinese people started to aware the importance of taking higher education, because highly educated people usually can be less anxious and more resourceful than people with little educations when they solve problems on works and life. So, in some companies, they only recruit employees with master or higher degree in some certain positions. In order to make children to be more competitive when they apply for jobs in the future, Chinese parents are not satisfied by sending their children to good Chinese universities such as Tsinghua University and Beijing University anymore, and hence they plan to send their children to universities on other countries. Those Chinese parent think studying abroad can make their children to leave from their comfort zones to be more independent and learn a lot of knowledges which cannot be learned in Chinese universities. (Boerxiusidemuyang, 2016).
Education is an essential, but education differs and varies throughout the world. In China and the United different traditions and customs are applied to educate their citizens. How different are their education systems, their higher learning, and their cost of education? To explain their differences their similarities also need to be addressed.
The key issue is education system effect on economic development, which is one of the main measurements of competitiveness. Education has long been viewed as the way of economic growth. Theoretically it is emphasized that it has at least three mechanisms through which education can effect on economic growth. First, education can increase human capital, which is known today as employment, and it can have resulted on labor productivity. (Mankiw et al. (1992)) Second, there will be an increase in the innovative capacity of the economy and the new knowledge on new technologies, products, and processes promotes growth. (Lucas (1988), Romer (1990), Aghion and Howitt (1998)) Third, education can make the diffusion and the transmission of knowledge the way easy, and to successfully assess and implement the new technologies needed devised by others, which will also be a method of economic growth. (Nelson and Phelps (1966), Benhabib and
