Upon further research, I discovered that this was consistent across all middle schools in the district. I feel as though it is of utmost importance for students to be prepared and have a plan once they graduate high school. They need to be aware of their options and their career goals. In order to have a career goal and understand their post-secondary options, students must understand and gain exposure the various career paths and opportunities. It is never too early to begin planning for the future, developing career goals, and creating a post-secondary plan. As a seventeen-year-old in high school, life is always interesting. My parents started homeschooling my older brother and me when we were in the second grade. We attended Evangel Family Christian Academy which is a school located in Montgomery, Alabama. We switched to a different cover school also located in Montgomery named Ezekiel Academy. When we decided to change schools, I was only in the seventh grade and my brother was a senior. I am still attending Ezekiel Academy and have started my junior year. I play baseball and basketball and have been blessed and fortunate to have my father coach me throughout my current high school career.

There are many things you can do in high school that can help you be prepared for college. Like, taking as many math classes as you can the more you take in high school which is paid for the cheaper college will be for you. So, any AP math and science class with help because it counts as a college credit. You should start from an earlier age at doing puzzles and other things that work your brain like reading so you can have easier comprehension skills. So, you can get into high classes in high school. Before picking your career as an engineer you could job shadow and see what you are really getting yourself into or else you might not like it and change in college. If you don't like building or being creative to solve problems engineering is not for you. You can all so prepare yourself buy being in clubs this involved in clubs that involve science and math like science club and or chess club. Having a part time job while balancing high school can be very difficult. Personally I am a very busy individual and would need a job to work around my schedule. If I were to get a job I would want something that interested me as a possible future career. I would want to be a electrician apprentice, This job sparks my interests and I am intrigued and want to learn about this more and more! As educators it is our responsibility is to offer students the capability to become educated, informed, and active students that are skilled in the many challenges of our society. By providing high school students with a program that encourages college and career readiness this can be accomplished.
