The justice system's major components are: police, courts, and corrections. Police are public officials whose purpose is to maintain order and enforce the criminal law. Police officers work in the community to prevent and control crime within their jurisdiction. This includes, but is not limited to: speeding, illegal use of drugs, violence, and disruptive behavior. A practical exercise is an option to allow those who do not perform well in traditional interviews to demonstrate that they do have the skills required to do the job role, for example if no mention is made of excellent verbal communication skills as an essential requirement of the job but accurate data entry skills are then this can be demonstrated using an exercise whilst taking account of the candidates limitations in the former aspect.

For the learner’s evidence to be sufficient, it needs to relevant and proves that the learner is competent. The evidence must mean something to the learner and must not just be used for the sake of it. The evidence must be clear and logical and must meet the learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
