Learning styles are defined as an individual's mode of gaining knowledge. The most common learning styles addressed are auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. Auditory leaners understand information through hearing. Visual learners need more visual aids in the learning process, such as diagrams, webs, or pictures. Kinesthetic learners learn better by using manipulatives or by being physically involved in the learning process. Learning styles is a piece of the “backbone” of differentiated learning. Both are used to individualize instruction to help students achieve the most success.

It's not always possible to make learning customize for s student and differentiation is hard to do. And teachers would probably need to have smaller class size which is more expensive. They also need more time and resources to develop lesson plans and customization. It's inconvenient for adults because it requires more work and money. We can't ask for engaged learners when our policies and practices tend to focus on producing compliant learners.(Azzam,2014,p.14)

The biggest difference between student-centered education and traditional education is that with student-centered education a variety of teaching methods are used (Blumberg, 2008). People all learn in different ways and at different levels and using just one standard teaching method does not always work for everyone. Learner-centered education is beneficial to both the teacher and the student in that it provides the perfect environment for hands on learning. It allows for the instructor to tie the material to real work examples and situations while allowing the learner to relate the learning to their own experiences.

With personalized learning everyone would be successful. There would be no need for kids to drop out from school, especially dealing with college students. Every year there are several college drop outs due to stress and depression. With personalized learning students wouldn't have to worry about learning at a quick pace therefore, putting full effort while showing true results into their work because subjects have to due with their personal interest. Truthfully, if schools were to put effort into educating kids with classes that actually mattered to them then the country would strive more. Formal education and learning are two different things. They both have their similarities and non-similarities. Based on personal experience, learning is when the instructor interacts with the students, making them understand and develop skills from in and outside of the classroom. For example, rather than having the teacher only show how to solve a math problem on the board with hopes that you will understand it perfectly from then on.
