Animals are being tested, and killed because they are tested. Do you want that to happen? Well I don’t. Although animals being tested can be a good thing, I am an animal lover and don’t want animals to be hurt for sometimes purposeless. Well animals are sometimes killed in the testing. They could be immune to things that can kill us. If a vet tested an animal with a new type of medicine for a dog disease without the owner’s permission and it backfired many dogs can become sick and die because of animal testing.
Yes, I know it is sad, but it happens lots of times. Animals are killed in testing or kept in captivity for the rest of their lives. So we don’t need animal testing if this is going to happen to our poor animals. 100 million animals die a year from animal testing! Not good. Animal testing needs to be stopped. Yes stopped. Animals only hurt during testing are kept in captivity for the rest of their (sad) lives because if they were released back out into the wild they would not be able to fend for themselves. Since so many animals are killed a year from testing, the people that tested the animals are murders. Would you like it if someone took your mom, dad, or siblings and stuck a needle in her that killed her? That

For example, some animals could be immune to types of poisons. I wouldn’t want to take that drug! I know most people love animals but they are tough. Like I said, they are immune to things that will kill us or make us sick. So although animals may not die humans may. So it is not safe to test on animals. It is better than testing on babies, but it is still unkind. Say an animal dies in a test and the scientist says the medicine is unsafe. Humans can be immune to things that animals aren’t. So if an animal dies scientist cannot be sure if humans will die. This matters because we don’t want to die and we don’t want an animal to die and the medicine turns out useless. This does
An issue that is hotly debated is about animal testing. It is clear that overall animal testing should not be allowed. It shouldn’t be allowed because animal testing does not even do much to the humans, because it can hurt or kill the animals, and finally because these animals that are being tested aren’t being protected the right way. Even though that other people could say that animals are a great replicate of humans and can develop cures. Also they could say that it helps less people get sick, it kills the animals by the scientists not protecting them. Overall animals shouldn’t be tested on.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) statistics records the use of roughly 26 million animals per year for animal testing. These test reports in many cases are poor. Although animals were greatly used in the past the effects of treatments on animals and humans can’t be compared. The human body, reactions to toxins, and usefulness of treatments is different because we are different, “While animal’s maybe ‘whole models,’ states Dr. Aysha Akhtar, MD,” they are the wrong whole model because of interspecies differences.” Testing animals for human treatments should not continue to be practiced.
Animals can be burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused as a result of testing. And the list could go on forever. The way animals are being mistreated and tested on should be against the law. There is a different ways to do research other than killing and abusing animals. There are many alternate test that scientist can use to do there research without harming animals. Alternative test are defined as test that use the three “R’s”, a test that replaces a procedure that uses animals with one that doesn’t, a test that reduces the number of animals used in a procedure, and test that refine a procedure to cause less pain to the animal.(11 Facts about…)
For many years, the field of science has used animals in medical experiments worldwide, because of this innocent animals are being killed everyday. They are being tested with new drugs, new treatments, and by many makeup companies. Connecticut recently celebrated the passage of the “Beagle Freedom Law”, a law that requires laboratories to work with charities and rescue groups to find homes for research cats and dogs. Animals are being tested so humans do not have to be but animal tests do not reliably predict results in human beings, although animals are the closest thing to humans. Most experiments involving animals are flawed, wasting the lives of innocent animal subjects. Over 100 million animals suffer a year from testing. Testing animals is a lot more expensive than alternative methods and it is wasting government research dollars. Animal testing is not only a bad idea, but it is also inhuman and it should not be tolerated. The FDA should stop allowing animal testing. An animal does not give out the same results on a test than a human would.
Animal testing is wrong and it is cruel to animals. Each year about five million dogs, cats, rabbits, rats, monkeys, and other animals die in lethal dose tests performed in many states around the United States. During a lethal dose test, the experimental substance is forced into the animal’s throats or is pumped into their stomachs by a tube, sometimes causing death by stomach rupture or from the
On the opposing argument, some may say that testing animal is cruel and that most experiments go wrong and the lives of many animals are lost. With that being said some animals do lose their lives when certain tests do end badly although animal testing has benefited and even saved many animal’s lives by creating cures and treatments. Many animals would have died from rabies, distemper, infectious hepatitis virus, and feline leukemia if it weren’t for animal testing.
Initially you might believe that animals have moral rights. Animals tested are don’t even have the mental capacity to comprehend different objects, let alone what they’re going through. They just have similar features of a human, which outside of this scenario would be completely useless. Another argument might be how testing doesn’t have guaranteed results, but hurts organisms in the process. While this is true, testing has an 83.7% success rate, while taking in consideration animals that were too weak to live past a few hours. Taking note of how only a few hundred animals are tested on a year, that 16.3% is a minimal amount. This is all for the better of humans, and even animals. After all, animal products are created off of these tests too. The death of a few animals, is better for us, and the rest of
Regardless of the devastating facts behind animal testing, supporters of using laboratory animals argue that without animal testing it would be hard for researchers to guarantee that drugs and medical procedures are safe for use on humans (“Update: Animal Testing”). They are ignoring the animals’ well-being. If scientists were dissecting live humans, people would be disgusted and call that murder. Animals and people may look different, but we are both living things. Animals are just unable to speak for themselves, so scientists choose to treat them like inanimate objects, as if their
There are over 26 million different types of animal being tested on for research each year in the United States. Animals are used for testing every year for human research. Different animals go through serious pain, in order for humans to facilitate growth in different fields of study. Many animals are used in order to study diseases and potential cures for the diseases. New research chemicals are tested on animals with similar structures to humans, to see if the medicine can help with certain diseases. Tons of scientific advancement has taken place because of animal testing. Without animal testing, many diseases would still exist, without a safe way to test for potential cures. The issue at hand is the type of treatment that animals have to endure because of the different testing methods. They are treated very poorly, go through intense suffering, and normally have very poor living conditions. A pro to animal testing is that many cures and different medicines have been developed through animal testing. Without animal testing, many diseases would still exist without cures. Secondly, animals have a much shorter life span than humans do, so scientists can study the results through the whole life span of the animal. With humans, it is hard to do a full test because we have such high lifespans, while animals tend to live a lot less longer. Thirdly, many animals have been saved because of animal testing. Many diseases animals deal with now have vaccines and cures, as a result of animal testing. Without it, many animals would have rabies or other types of virus that can be detrimental to the animal’s health. On the contrary, a con to animal testing would be the pain many animals go through as a result of the testing. The tests are experimental, so we don’t know exactly what the chemical drug will do to the animal. Many cases have turned bad and many animals have died as a result, or gone through extensive pain. Next, there are many alternative methods of experimental testing that doesn’t require animals. As a result, why are we still using animals for testing when there are other ways to do it. Finally, animals are different from humans, so they make poor testing subjects. We can’t know for sure how the research
In conclusion, animal testing is wrong and it needs to stop. These animals are dying from things that can easily be avoided. The animals that are tested on don't always bring accurate results. People have talked about their experience with being tested on, yet we continue to use animals. These animals are innocent and most of them only know life I'm the testing facility. That is no way the
Animal testing is cruel, inhumane, and causes many deaths. To start, according to statisticsbrain.com “There are 76,430,000 cats in the U.S. and 19,500,000 are killed in research each year.” This means that 25% of cats are being killed each year due to animal testing. In addition, P.E.T.A. says “78,294 animals are subjected to severe pain much higher than the average animal pain tolerance.” This means that the people testing the animals aren’t taking into consideration the pain they are giving these animals. As can be seen, most of the cats are being killed because of animal testing and animals are being subjected to pain much more than they can handle.
Animal testing has been a controversial topic discussed by many people over the past decade. There are many organizations that are trying to ban the use of animal testing because of the cruelty us humans are doing to innocent animals and the pain and suffering these animals go through. The first organization I found when researching was PETA (People, Ethical, Treatment, Animals). From my research, this is the largest animal rights group founded so far. Their main office is in Norfolk, VA. They are not only fighting animal testing but animals for the use of food, clothing and entertainment. This organization has donated over a million dollars to find non-animal testing methods. Another organization I found was PCRM (Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine).
Imagine that you woke up one morning and discovered that your favorite pet was gone, and later found out that it was kidnapped, sold into experimentation, and later discovered that your pet had died from animal testing. How would you feel? Because according to Daniel Engber in his article “Where’s Pepper?” this happened to a farmer back in 1965 where his dog Pepper got kidnaped and later died of experimentation. As far back as ancient Greek writing we have been testing on animals and there have been strong feelings from both sides. Those who are for animal testing say animal testing has made some great medicines like vaccines for hepatitis B and C. And those who are against animal testing say that it is cruel and inhumane, that there are other methods, and animals are so different that it’s a waste of time and money. It is clear that overall that animal testing is bad because it is a waste of time because animals are very different from human beings, a waste of money because of 21st century tech, and an unnecessary waste of animal life because experiments on animals is cruel and causes animals to suffer so it should
There is a debate in the world today. Some people think they should do testing on animals and some people think they shouldn’t test animal because it’s not right for them to test and kill the animals when they're done. The United States is having a lot of trouble with people testing animals because this group called PETA is trying to end testing all over the world. The PETA is fighting for the animal welfare act. The animal welfare act does not let test on animal.
An estimated of 26 million animals are used for testing and killed. More than 26 million animal lives are wasted. This should stop. It could lead to animal extinction and other problems. Some reasons why animal testing should not be allowed is one, it is cruel and inhumane. Two, some substances are never even used. Three, animal lives are wasted. Animal testing should not be allowed because it’s cruel and inhumane, some substances are never used, and animal lives are wasted.
