Chapter 1, Problem 1GQ
To determine

The spheres that represent Earth’s abiotic environment and the way these spheres differ from one another.

Introduction:

The entirety in Earth's gadget can be divided into one of 4 predominant sub-systems: land, water, living matters, or air. These four subsystems are referred to as "spheres." They may be the "lithosphere" (land), "hydrosphere" (water), "biosphere" (living matters), or "atmosphere" (air).

Explanation of Solution

The earth’s surface is placed into four major subsystems called the sphere. The three spheres that belong to abiotic or nonliving systems are atmosphere, lithosphere, and hydrosphere. Another sphere belongs to biotic and living system and is known as the biosphere.

The biosphere consists of all the planet's living things. The biosphere includes all of the microorganisms, plants, and animals of Earth. Within the biosphere, living things shape ecological groups based on the physical surroundings of a place. Those groups are known as biomes. Deserts, grasslands, and tropical rainforests are three forms of biomes that exist in the biosphere.

Other spheres like atmosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere belong to abiotic and non-living systems. The atmosphere contains all the gaseous parts on the earth. Hydrosphere contains all the water parts on the earth, whereas the Lithosphere contains all the cold, hard solid land of the earth’s crust.
