Introduction:
During glycolysis, the conversion of glucose to glucose-6- phosphate is catalyzed by the enzyme hexokinase. The building up of the product glucose-6-phosphate inhibited the activity of the enzyme hexokinase. The binding of glucose-6-phosphate to a second site on the enzyme changes the shape of the active site.
