Part 1 of Class Actlvlty 10O on circle designs shows a design made from circles. In part 2 of the same Class Activity, there is a beautiful circle design that was made by drawing a portion of the design of part 1. Make another interesting circle design by using a compass (or a paper clip) to draw a portion of the design of part 1 of Class Activity 10O. Leave construction marks to show how you made your drawing. You may wish to outline your final drawing in a different color to make it visible and distinct from the construction marks. (Many such designs can be found in church windows and in other art throughout the world.)

- Consider the information in Exercise 2, but suppose you know that the area of the region defined by the intersection of the square and the circle measures 5. What is the area of the entire colored region? 2. The area of the square is 12, and the area of the circle is 30. Does the area of the entire shaded region equal 42? Why or why not?arrow_forwardIf line segment AB and line segment CD in the accompanying drawing are drawn to scale, what does intuition tell you about the length of these segments?arrow_forwardRefer to the shaft shown in Figure 6-4. Determine the missing dimensions in the table using the dimensions given. All dimensions are in inches.arrow_forward
- There are plans to locate a disaster response agency in an area that is prone to tornadic activity. The agency is to be located at equal distances from Wichita, Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Use a construction method to locate the approximate position of the agency. Note: Trace the outline of the two states on your own paper.arrow_forwardAfter the five pieces have been cut from the round stock in Figure 113, what is the length that is thrown away?arrow_forward
