The amount of heat required to raise the temperature to one degree Celsius per unit mass is termed as specific heat. Heat of fusion is the heat at which the state of a substance changes from solid to liquid at constant pressure. When a substance changes from liquid to solid it is heat of solidification. The amount of heat required to convert a liquid substance to gas is known as heat of vaporization. When a gaseous vapor changes to liquid the heat required is heat of condensation.
