Cats, dogs, wolves, and racoons can be conduits to pathogens that might infect humans. One such infectious disease is Rabies. It is a disease caused by the Rabies virus, which infects brains of mammals. The virus is transmitted by direct contact through the wounded skin (biting or licking by a rabid animal).
