Velocity vs time
Acceleration vs time
Force vs time

Question : A 550 kilogram mass initially at rest acted upon by a force of F(t) = 50et Newtons. What are the acceleration, speed, and displacement of the mass at t = 4 second ?
a =(50 e^t)/(550 ) [N/kg]
v = ∫_0^t▒(50 e^t )dt/(550 )= v_0 +(50 e^t-50)/550=((e^t- 1))/11
x = ∫_0^t▒(e^t- 1)dt/(11 )= x_0 +(e^t- t - 1)/(11 )
a(4s)=(50*54.6)/550= 4.96[m/s^2 ]
v(4s)=((e^4-1))/11= 4.87[m/s]
x(4s)=((e^4- 4 - 1))/11= 4.51 [m]

- Suppose you're converting a bill of materials for machining feedstock from the British gravitational (U.S. system) of units to International System (SI) units. Your goal is to have all of the material quantities in kilograms. Your bill of materials lists values for required weights of brass rod in pounds. To convert to these values to kilograms you first you divide by gravitational acceleration in feet per second squared to get a mass in slugs, then convert slugs to kilograms using standard conversion factors. - A mercury thermometer, which has been on a table for some time, is registering the room temperature, 50°F. Suddenly, it is placed in a 395°F oil bath. Hooke's law states that the force (F, in newtons) applied to a spring is equal to the stiffness of the spring (k, in newtons per meter) times the displacement {x, in meters): F= kx. ;Chapter 10, Problem 161CA, Refer to the Worksheet shown, set up to calculate the displacement of a spring. Hooke's law states Cell A3 contains a data validation list of springs. The stiffness (cell 83) and maximum displacement (cell C3) values are found using a VLOOKUP function linked to the table shown at the right side of the worksheet. These data are then used to determine the displacement of the spring at various mass values. A warning is issued if the displacement determined is greater than the maximum displacement for the spring. Use this information to determine the answers to the following questions. Write the expression, in Excel notation, that you would type into cell 86 to determine the displacement of the spring.…arrow_forward⦁ “God himself could not sink this ship” This is an advertisement for the Titanic, produced in the early 1900s. However, after colliding with an iceberg at dawn on April 15, 1912, two rivers were formed, and out of the 2,200 people on board, 1,500 people, including the captain, sank with the ship. According to a later investigation, the “temperature change theory” (DBTT theory) was the most promising cause of the sinking. Give a brief guess of the cause of the ship's sinking in relation to temperature.arrow_forward
