The basic unit of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) is nucleosome. The nucleosome is found in the DNA of eukaryotes in sequence like eight histone protein cores. The histones are the alkaline proteins, which are found in the nuclei of the eukaryotic cells. These make the DNA to form into structural units called the nucleosome. Nucleosome looks like thread-like structures.
