Interpretation:
Intravenous therapy may be used to introduce a saline solution into a patient’s vein. The solution has to be identified as pure substance, a homogeneous mixture or a heterogeneous mixture.

Pure substance:
It has only one component. Water is a pure substance and made up of hydrogen and oxygen atoms.
Homogeneous mixture:
The mixture which consists of two or more substances that is completely uniform and the substances are in same phase (
Heterogeneous mixture:
The mixture consists of two or more substances which are visibly in different phases or a non-uniform mixture is said to be heterogeneous mixture.
