Interpretation:

Concentration of ${\text{Ba}}^{2+}$ in $\text{0}\text{.100 M }{\left(\text{CH}{3}_{}\right)}_4{\text{N}}^{+}{\text{IO}}_3^{-}$ saturated with $\text{Ba}{\left({\text{IO}}_3\right)}_2$ has to be calculated.

Concept Introduction:

Expression to compute mean ionic activity coefficient is as follows:

  ${\text{γ}}_{\pm }={\displaystyle \sum {\left({\text{γ}}_i\right)}^i\cdot {\left({\text{γ}}_j\right)}^j}$

Here

$\text{γ}$ denotes activity coefficient of ith species.

${\text{γ}}_j$ denotes activity coefficient of jth species.

${\text{γ}}_{\pm }$ denotes mean activity coefficient.
