Case summary:

Tim an Ivy League graduate joined a premier consulting firm as an associate. He was on a fast track and earned an MBA, and was recruited by a pharmaceutical firm. In just eight years he was appointed as CEO. Once he was appointed as CEO, he soon become to behave differently, he became reluctant to take important decision and wasted his time on minor effort. At times he felt like an imposter. So the board finally dismissed him.

This downfall is Tim is believed to have happen because he had guilt about his success. He was consumed by the idea that his being too successful would upset his father, who had repeatedly failed in his business endeavors.
