Concept Introduction:
The reactants have to cross the high energy barrier for the formation of the product. Minimum energy is required to get to the peak of the barrier called activation energy. The effective collision among reactants produces a high energy complex that has a short lifetime. The formed unstable complex gets converted to form products.
