Stealing thunder can be defined as taking someone else's idea and using it for one's own advantage or to anticipate other individual. Some presenters use multimedia presentations such as PowerPoints to "steal their thunder", this is where they expect their presentation slides to take the show instead of themselves. Stealing thunder is a social influence tactic in which negative thoughts and anticipation being revealed about an individual, that individual chooses to reveal it first.
