Chapter 12, Problem 18RTC
Summary Introduction
To write:
To discuss the components linked to the absorption of light energy during the photosynthesis. To write about the composition and role of these pigments. To discuss the existing evidence for the involvement of these pigments in photosynthesis.
Introduction:
The two phases of photosynthesis are the light dependent and the dark dependent reactions. In the first phase, sunlight energy is absorbed by the chlorophyll molecule and this energy is then converted to the stored chemical energy. The light reactions phase takes place in the chloroplast thylakoid membranes while the dark reactions occur in the stroma.
