Concept explainers
To determine:
The reaction from (oxidation, reduction, condensation, and hydrolysis) seen in catabolism and the reaction seen in anabolism.
Introduction:
Anabolism refers to all the building life processes of the body, in which energy is used to make building blocks of the body. Molecules that are required by the body are formed in anabolism. Therefore, the anabolism is one of the endergonic reactions.
Catabolism refers to all the destructive processes of the body, in which energy releases. Complex molecules are broken down into simpler ones in catabolism. Therefore, the catabolism is one of the exergonic reactions.
