Union membership is taken so as to get the increased wages and the benefits regarding the job in the industry along with the healthy environment to work in with job security.

The union membership in the coming days would decline as can be seen that the manufacturing sector in the past time had a majority of unions but it has been declining from years. Moreover, the decline in the membership can also be seen in the service sector where there is a huge changing job landscape. In the time of economic slowdown, unions won’t be able to help the workers for their issues of reduction in wages or tough working conditions.

Workers are not much in need of the unions as the increase in wages and benefits now depends upon the economic prosperity. Unions create monopoly actions which sometimes aren't good for the working environment, so their presence in the industrial world has been towards the way to decline in the future.
