Photosynthetic organisms are those, which can assimilate the organic compounds with the help of chlorophyll pigment in the presence of sunlight. Photosynthetic organisms have the capacity of fixation of carbon. By doing so, they can synthesize their own food material and liberate the oxygen in the environment necessary for the survival of living organisms.
