Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Protozoans are unicellular, heterotrophic, nonphotosynthetic, and animal-like organisms. Protozoans included water molds and slime molds. Protozoans are generally grouped on the basis of locomotion or on the basis of number and type of flagella. Members of this group lack a well-defined cell wall but some members of amoeboid protist secrete a layer of calcium carbonate. Protozoans do not possess chloroplast.
