Concept explainers
Interpretation:
“Indefinite shape, definite volume” is the characterization that applies to which physical state has to be chosen from the given options.
Concept Introduction:
The study that is concerned with composition, transformation, and characteristics of matter is known as chemistry. Anything that occupied space and has mass is known as matter. Amount of matter present in the sample is termed as mass. Matter includes all the things that are naturally occurring things and synthetic materials. Forms of energy like heat, light are not considered to be matter.
Matter exists in three physical states and they are solid, liquid and gas. Physical state is based simple on shape and volume are definite or indefinite. Physical state that is characterized by definite shape and volume is known as solid. Physical state that is characterized by indefinite shape and definite volume is known as liquid. Physical state that is characterized by indefinite shape and indefinite volume is known as gas.

- Question #3: A slender, homogeneous bar B weighing 193 lb has an angular velocity of 2 rad/s clockwise and an angular acceleration of 8 rad/s2 clockwise when in the position shown in the figure below. The wall at B is smooth, but the wall at A has a coefficient of sliding friction of 0.1. Find the value of the downward force P and the reaction forces at A and B at the instant shown in the figure.arrow_forwardSolve 12) or 15) I want to compare to my response as practicearrow_forwardAnswer 47 d,e,f,g all four parts else will give u downvotearrow_forward
- Problem 11: A high-pressure gas cylinder contains 50.0 L of toxic gas at a pressure of 1.6 × 107 Pa and a temperature of 25.0°C. Its valve leaks after the cylinder is dropped. The cylinder is cooled to dry ice temperature (-78.5°C) to reduce the leak rate and pressure so that it can be safely repaired. Part (a) What is the final pressure, in pascals, in the tank, assuming a negligible amount of gas leaks while being cooled and that there is no phase change? Part (b) What is the final pressure, in pascals, if one-tenth of the gas escapes during this process? Part (c) To what temperature, in kelvins, must the tank be cooled from its initial state to reduce the pressure to 1.00 atm (assuming the gas does not change phase and that there is no leakage during cooling)?arrow_forwardAnswer letter a,b,c and d. pls I don't want to waste my money herearrow_forwardAnswer ONLY number 2 (letter a, b and c )arrow_forward
