Homeruns Go to www.pearsonhighered.com/sullivanstats to obtain the data file 12_2_22 using the file format of your choice for the version of the text you are using. The variable “TrueDist” represents the distance, in feet, that the homerun traveled for all homeruns hit in the 2014 season.

1. a. Draw a relative frequency histogram of the distance a homerun traveled in 2014 using a lower class limit of the first class of 300 and a class width of 10. Describe the shape of the distribution.
2. b. Find the population mean and population standard deviation distance.
3. c. Find the quartiles of distance.
4. d. Draw a boxplot of distance. Are there any outliers?
5. e. Use a normal model to determine the proportion of homeruns that exceeded 450 feet. Compare this to the actual proportion of homeruns that exceeded 450 feet.
6. f. Use a normal model to determine the first and third quartiles. Compare this result to the quartiles found in part (c).
