Chapter 12.3, Problem 9BYGO
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The nerve fiber is insulated by a spiral layer called the myelin which is produced in both CNS and PNS. The composition of myelin is similar to the plasma membrane and is made of 80% lipid which consists of glycolipids, phospholipid and cholesterol and 20% protein. The formation of myelin is called the myelination or myelinogenesis.
