Question
Chapter 12.6, Problem 5AYLO
Summary Introduction
To discuss:
Temporal and spatial summation, where they occur and how they determine whether a neuron fires.
Introduction:
A single neuron may receive inputs from many other neurons. Some neurons produce EPSP and others produce IPSPs. The response of neurons depends on the inhibitory or excitatory input. Summation is adding up postsynaptic potentials and responding to their remaining effect. The two types of summation are temporal summation and spatial summation.
